On Sunday afternoon, July 10th a new phenomenon began in East Hills! Thanks to the leadership of Stacey Siegel, chair, and Alethea Shapiro, vice chairperson, and the members of the Kids in the Park Committee, coupled with Supervising Trustees Manny Zuckerman and Clara Pomerantz, hundreds of parents and residents enjoyed a concert by Little Maestros. Singing, jumping, waiving, and even blowing bubbles, the band entertained the children and provided excitement and smiles. “It was a huge success” said Mayor Koblenz. “It is a testimonial to the dedicated residents, including Stacey and Alethea who ran the event, and to the concept that if you have a good idea, it can be implemented with great success.” Last Fall, Candyland in the Park was also initiated for the youngest children and in past years, the Spooktacular, East Hills Day, and then Kids Day this year offered rides, and fun for all aged children. “Today, we added a new and proud tradition for our community.” Said the Mayor. “We are delighted to add the Kids in the Park series to our repertoire of functions and encourage all young families to join in the fun this summer by seeing the remaining three events.”
