Bid Documents

Bids are advertised in an approved local newspaper or Newsday. The notice of bid provides the date, time, and place for submitting bids. While these vary, the notice of bids as well as bids package are available on this website. Under General Municipal Law, Section 103, a bid must occur when a purchase contract for equipment, materials, supplies exceeds $20,000 or a public works contract exceeds $35,000. While procurement laws govern purchases under these limits, the board’s action to approve the bid, its publication, the bid package, opening and award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder are followed as required by law.
