Super Seniors Summer Trip!
Once again, it was a sell-out event for the Seniors Activities Committee This time the program on June 28, 2016 included a trip to the gorgeous New York Botanical Gardens and then to the delicious Mario’s Restaurant. A special private tour of the Haupt Conservatory revealed the spectacular architecture and gardens in four different environments. The trams made it easy and convenient to travel around the gardens. Some of the group spent their time at the famous Rockefeller Rose Garden enjoying and photographing the over 600 varieties of roses there. Art lovers visited the Library and viewed the special exhibition: “Impressionism: American Gardens on Canvas.” The show featured the celebrated artists: Sargent, Childe Hassam, William Merritt Chase and Greacen. Also on display was the eight foot statue of Diana of the Chase by Anna VH Huntington. Then, everyone enjoyed having lunch at the remarkable Mario’s Restaurant on Arthur Avenue. The dining experience was exceptional and the camaraderie every bit as wonderful.
