Calendar Letter

Dear Friends,

The members of our Board of Trustees, including Deputy Mayor Manny Zuckerman, and Trustees Clara
Pomerantz, Brian Meyerson and Stacey Siegel and I wish you and your family the warmest holiday wishes.

We hope you enjoy the enclosed Calendar, which features the Best of the Calendar Photos by our very talented resident Dr. Alan Sloyer since 2007.

We thank Rallye Motors for sponsoring our one-of-a-kind Calendar each year, and for bringing us our spectacular Fireworks Show on July 4th. Their generosity each year is unparalleled.

Besides containing the sanitation pick-up schedules, our Calendar includes valuable information such
as contacts, information on building permits, etc., and several pages of collages of photos showing our
community spirit.

In 2017, we were successful in our negotiations for the Mackay gatehouse, which we obtained as a
100% donation to our Village, along with our Village getting an added contribution of $100,000 for funds
and $93,500 for improvements, which were given and committed to by the current owners to restore and
maintain our proudest history. Once again, I thank our resident, Howard Kroplick, for his assistance and for lending his historical expertise.

As previously noted, we also are obtaining $250,000 in grants for security cameras at the entrances, which will be used by the police if and when criminal acts occur. Having said that, we remain thankful that we had an almost perfect record of safety this past year. This is, of course, our highest priority.

We have also successfully replaced old park cards with new technologically improved park cards to gain entrance to the pool and park facilities.

For 2018, I have Four Important Announcements to make:

First, all new Security Stickers are available for your cars which should be placed on the driver’s side,
outside rear passenger side window so when you enter the Park our guards can just wave you through
without delay. You can either: 1. Complete the form enclosed with this mailing and mail back, or
2, go online and enter the info on the form on our website at www.villageofeasthills.org (In both “1” and
“2” the sticker(s) will be mailed back to you), or 3. Bring in the completed form to Village Hall and pick up the new stickers at no charge.

Second, the Village has created a new shortcut feature, which can be downloaded to your mobile device
and instantly take you to the Village website. All you have to do is go to our Village website and follow the steps provided on our home screen.

Third, if you do not want Solicitations at your home, much like the new Security Stickers, you can either: 1. Complete the form enclosed with this mailing and mail back, or 2. Go online and enter the info on the form on our website at www.villageofeasthills.org (In “1” and “2” the sticker(s) will be mailed back to you), or 3. Bring in the completed form to Village Hall and pick up the “DO NOT SOLICIT” stickers at no charge. The “DO NOT SOLICIT” stickers must be put in clear view, at eye level next to or on the front door.

Fourth, to receive notices during emergencies, as well as current news of major village developments by
email or text messages, please fill out the attached form.

On a personal note, our community continues to mourn the residents we lost this past year. Recounting the
great support and service to our community, we will always be appreciative to Jack Russo and Jodi Golden.
Jack was an indispensable help to me in gaining the land now used for our Park from the federal government for a small fraction of its value. Jodi Golden was of immeasurable help with planning and promoting the Kids in the Park program. Her courage and positive outlook will always be remembered. We deeply miss them both.

Turning to the future, we will continue to fight against raising your taxes. Our aim is to not raise taxes for an unprecedented, unparalleled 8th year in a row. At the same time, we will continue to bring you the finest Village services, whether snow removal, security, or state-of-the-art facilities at the Park.

Again, we wish you and your family a Safe, Happy and Healthy New Year.

With Warmest Holiday Wishes,
Michael R. Koblenz, Mayor
