NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees will meet and hold a public hearing on April 13, 2020 at 7 p.m. via teleconference pursuant to Governor’s Executive Order 202.1, to consider the Village’s Tentative Budget for the fiscal year commencing June 1, 2020 through May 31, 2021. The Tentative Budget calls for the tenth year in a row no increase in taxes in East Hills. The Tentative Budget has been filed in the Office of the Village Clerk and is available for inspection on the Village’s website, villageofeasthills.org or may be obtained by email to the Village Clerk-Treasurer at dgooch@villageofeasthills.org. The balanced budget proposed for acceptance provides for allocations, funds, expenditures, revenues, and salaries to all department heads and employees for the upcoming fiscal year and sets forth proposed compensation which is paid to all officers of the village including the post of mayor, sixty-thousand dollars, with no increase, board of trustees, twenty-one thousand five-hundred twenty-four dollars, with no increase and deputy mayor, twenty- seven thousand, thirty-six dollars, per annum with no increase. These salaries remain the same as they have been for the last eleven years. The budget further provides for additional costs for sanitation, fire, public safety, insurance, streets, administration and village maintenance, as well as revenues which include property and non-property taxes, fees, interest, penalties, and state aid. Due to the current health emergency, the public meeting will not be held in person at Village Hall. In addition, comments with respect to the proposed budget may be submitted prior to the hearing at dgooch@villageofeasthills.org.
