IMPORTANT UPDATES TO BUILDING DEPARTMENT PROCEDURES
NEW WALK-IN HOURS: Building Department walk-in hours are Monday-Friday 9 AM-Noon or by appointment. Please used the gray dropbox outside the Village Hall main entrance for submissions outside of walk-in hours.
NEW FEE SCHEDULE: As of October 1, 2024 a new fee schedule is in effect. Click Here to see the new fees.
ONLINE PERMITTING! The Village of East Hills now accepts digital applications for most Building Department permits and certain Village Hall services and requests. As of November 1, 2024 we will accept most permits online or by paper submission. After January 1, 2025 all applications must be submitted via the online permit portal.
There are many variables that may trigger the requirement for a permit. It is the responsibility of the homeowner and contractor to determine whether or not a permit is required for each project. This chart is intended as general guidance in determining whether or not a permit is needed for work at your home. It is not intended to cover every project. Each change to your home is unique.
